Types of Evaluations 

You may request a document-by-document or course-by-course evaluation. Here is a description of each.  

Document by document evaluation: This is an evaluation of a degree or diploma. This verifies the existence of the diplomas, degrees, and transcripts, and confirms their equivalence to the standard educational levels in the U.S. For example, this evaluation will determine if a foreign degree is equivalent to a U.S. high school diploma, bachelor’s degree, or another level of education, but will not provide information about courses taken, credits awarded, GPA, etc.  

Course by course evaluation:  This is a detailed evaluation of your transcripts including courses completed, grades received, credits earned, degree conferred, and GPA to determine the US equivalency of the academic credentials earned in another country.   

Both of these evaluations help ensure that individuals with international education backgrounds are accurately represented in the U.S. context, facilitating the pursuit of employment, further education, or professional licensure in the United States.  

Once you submit the application form and the fee is paid, you will get an email confirming your submission and outlining additional items needed to complete the evaluation.     

Obtaining Required Documents  

Regardless of which evaluation you choose, you will need to request that the schools, colleges, or universities you attended provide original or official documents directly to us. In most cases, the institution can send them via email to [email protected]. Some institutions may prefer to use a reputable electronic document service such as Electronic Transcript Exchange (ETX), Digitary, TrueCopy, etc. We can also accept documents through these types of services. We cannot conduct an evaluation with unofficial documentation. 

We strongly encourage you to reach out to your institution immediately after you submit your foreign credential evaluation to us. Ask your institutions to send official copies of your transcripts, mark sheets, diplomas, and certificates directly to us at the email address above. Ask them to include your name and AZICE application number in the email. Please note, they have to send them directly to us themselves. Please do not forward them to us yourself. They must come from the official source.   

Translations 

If the official documents are in English, no translation is needed. If the official documents are not in English, then we will require a word-for-word, line-by-line translation of all documents provided for evaluation. Your institution may be able to provide a certified, translated copy. If not, we will require translations from a reputable translator (ex. a professor at your school, an ATA-accredited translator, etc.) or you may request that we complete the translation for you for an additional fee of $100.  

Note: There are some languages we do not translate.  

Timelines 

Currently, we have about a 3-week turnaround time from the date we receive all required information, including official or original copies of your academic record. Rush services are available upon request for an additional fee. The processing time can vary and does not include delivery time, weekends, or holidays.  

Once the evaluation is completed, you will automatically receive the completed evaluation report via email. You can print as many copies as you wish. If you desire a physical, hard copy of the report, we can send that to you in the United States via priority mail. If selecting this option, please choose the $25 priority mail fee in the application.
